Title insurance provides protection from defects in title, liens, judgements and mortgages that can arise from previous owners. Title insurance is designed to give you risk coverage. An owner’s policy is issued to protect your ownership rights in the property. It protects title defects prior to the issuing of the owner’s policy. It covers up to the amount of the owner’s policy.

What is a lender’s policy?

A lender’s policy is issued to protect the mortgage lender from any valid title defects, which could effect the lien of the mortgage. Lender’s coverage will cover up to the face amount of the lender’s policy.
